TATA DOCOMO Animation Contest

Tata Docomo is now inviting and encouraging animators in an Animation Contest. They have announce a unique animation contest. They want to encourage animators for making an animation with their own brand logos of Tata Docomo and its tune. An animator has to show his creativity using their brand characters – D, O, C, O, M and O, in a 05-60 seconds 2D flash animation video, in an AVI or MPEG formet. The animation has to be set to the Do-Do-Do tune. They are providing with inputs as well like, logos in particular formats, their soundtracks, videos also can be downloaded from their website on link http://create.tatadocomo.com/do-inputs.aspx

The best thing here is the animators who impresses the jury gets award of Rs.1 Lakh each, here there is no first or second, it could also go into television! Unlimited GPRS from TATA DOCOMO

In a recent email to me, TATA DOCOMO announced its another innovative offer in the country. It has launched unlimited GPRS plans. It is offering unlimited GPRS for a very low price and unlimited data transfer. They are introducing this in two packages.

One package will be the “Rs. 15 GPRS Pack”  This is a pre paid pack wherein a customer can recharge with Rs.15, and thereafter the customer will be allowed to access unlimited data for next 3 days by selecting Docomo internet APN on their handsets. Second package will be the “Rs. 95 GPRS pack”, in which customer recharges with Rs.95 for which the customer is allowed to access unlimited data for the next 30days. Diet SMS from TATA DOCOMO

A new amazing service from TATA DOCOMO, Diet SMS. This service enables customers to pay per character basis!  They are going to charge one paisa per character of sms, and no charges for space.

It simply means, if you want to send a message to your friend “How are you?” This will be charged 10Paise only as there are only 10 characters in it. TATA were first to start per second charges for voice calls and now they have done again by charging only Per Character in SMS.

For a TATA DOCOMO customer, how to use Diet SMS? – You need to type the mobile number followed by a space followed by the message and sms this to the short code 52208.

Well this is very good to see, but is it more economical when we use it? Lets compare with some other sms service providers.
I have reliance CDMA mobile, they give 2500 National SMS charging Rs.100 which comes to 4Paisa per sms with full 160 characters usage.
A person when sending an SMS uses at least 10 Characters which will cost him 10Paisa with TATA DOCOMO. I think TATA should work on it more and reduce the charges of per character  sms.

Well I feel it is very much useful and beneficial for a person who does very less SMS. Like 100-150 SMS per month. Every thing depends on own usage. So an SMSer who always does lots of SMS may not find good to him. But a Voicer who wants to send SMS may find very useful!
