Even Cars go GREEN!

The technology itself impresses so much. The Car can run on a process of photosynthesis, the process which is followed by trees. It will take CO2 and exhausts OXYGEN.

Chinese automaker Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation recently unveiled designs for a photosynthesizing concept car that could take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

Some technical details as provided say that YeZ roof “absorbs solar energy and transforms it into electricity while spinning rotors on the four wheels generate power from the wind.” and it would have two-seater “metal-organic framework,” which would work to absorb CO2 and water, turning them into electricity that would get stored in a lithium-ion battery.

Well, looks like we are on a good way of developing eco-friendly cars a better way. It may take some more years to be available commercially.

Solar Tower – renewable energy green global warming

EnviroMission Limited (www.enviromission.com.au) produced this 5 minute video on the pilot plant in Spain. It is an older video (2000) but gives a decent understanding of the solar tower concept. EnviroMission, Ltd. (US Market: EVOMY, Australian Exchange: EVM) is a renewable energy developer of sustainable “green” energy solutions for the energy market. EnviroMission aims to be one of Australia’s leading producers of clean renewable energy. EnviroMission holds the proprietary rights to Solar Tower technology, a large-scale renewable energy technology based on simple fundamentals of physics — hot air rises. Solar Tower technology has the potential to offer competitive renewable energy with equal reliability to fossil fuel generators. A single 200MW Solar Tower power station will provide enough electricity to power around 400000 households. The energy output will represent an annual saving of more than 1960000 tonnes of greenhouse CO2 gases from entering the environment when compared to brown coal emissions in Victoria. The greenhouse savings equate to the removal of approximately 500000 cars from the road. The Australian Solar Tower project consists of six distinct phases, the first two of which (project optimization and pre-feasibility commercialization) have already been completed. The third phase (final feasibility), paving the way for the implementation of the next three phases (final design, construction, and commercial operation).

Solar Eclipse on 22nd July 2009

Today morning was a wonderful morning seeing the Golden ring in the sky during sun rise. It is said that this is the longest solar eclipse of this century, and predicted it will occur only after more than 100 years.  Its was a golden oppurtunity for persons who viewed it. Check out the video below of the solar eclipse who missed in the morning.  It is know that until now the longest duration recorded if 7.5 Minutes. The area in which solar eclipse occurs experiences as if it is going to be night, this time even animals gets confused and birds also starts flying towards home. This solar eclipse was better viewed in Parts of Asia, starting from Japan to China to India.
