At present if you see, most of the market of email service is shared by Yahoo Mail service, but I think this place will be occupied by Gmail soon. Yahoo is also improved it self very much as compared to before. What is that the password could be changed?
Yes, it is very likely and dangerous. There is a very very impotant step I think which has to be taken during creating your own email account. Every email account has a Password retrival/reset question which has to be filled up and you can challenge the question and retrive/reset if you forget the password anytime.

Here, I recommend you to choose a unique question and password which no one can know about.
1. Many sites have questions like Your Date Of birth – Just think of this, today every person can know your date of birth online and can reset your password.. So this is a highly dangerous thing.
2. One more similar question is Mothers Maiden Name .
3. What I suggest is make a question of your own, which you would no discuss with anyone and can remember it.

You can avoid this same way as emails. Do not give your mobile numbers to unauthorized websites or pages. You also receive calls, as advertising calls and wants to sell the products to you, imagine that you are in a important meeting and such a call comes, how would you avoid this?
